The Harbor View Inn in Santa Barbara wanted to build a new wing to extend the hotel. Although the design was in very early stages, the city wanted to be assured that minimal mountain view blockage would occur. Videoscapes "ghosted" the image of a simple massing model that was accurately positioned in relation to the photograph. City planning staff could see that most of the view being blocked by the new wing was of the hotel in the background. The design was changed in many ways prior to building, but the general mass was preserved. A careful comparison of the view of the mountains in the two photos shows how accurately Videoscapes was able to predict the amount of view blockage. |
